I want to look at assimilation as promoted through three vectors in the first ten years of Dawn 1952 – 1961, vegetable gardens, recipes, and healthy foods. The vectors were published through regular articles In the Garden, Home Hints, recipes, and articles on healthy foods and other short form articles. Were these gardens, recipes and healthy food advice intended as vectors of assimilation?
